Banking post dated Cheques

Rentals in Dubai are paid by bank cheques. Depending on the agreement with the Landlord/Agent you may be required to pay the full annual rent in advance (one cheque per annum), biannually (two cheques per annum) etc. It is unusual for Landlords/Agents to accept more than six cheques. Remember to cross all cheques issued and our agents will ensure that the money is going into the bank account of the Landlord as a representative on behalf of the landlord, which would require a letter signed by the Landlord stating that this is the case.

The Real Estate Regulatory Agency (RERA) of Dubai Land Department has made it obligatory for all rental contracts to be registered through a revolutionary system called Ejari (in Arabic it means my rent). The damages noted in the report are liable for deduction from the tenant’s security deposit, which is subjected to the terms and conditions in the property rental contract. However, at the time of lease commencement, the tenant may deny the claim about any damages occurred during the tenancy. In such conditions the check in report recorded at the time of tenants checking in, comes in handy.
